Dovedale and Lover's Leap Circular
Details
Distance: 8.5 miles
Elevation gain: 470m
Easy to Moderate
This walk through Dovedale follows the River Dove past iconic sights including the stepping stones, Thorpe Cloud, and striking limestone features such as Lover’s Leap, Dovedale Castle, Twelve Apostles, Tissington Spires, Reynard’s Cave, and Ilam Rock.
There will be a pub visit after the walk. I'll have a shop around for a venue closer to the time.
Please note that I intend to set off at 9:30 to give us all time to stop for lunch and to see the sights.
We really encourage carpooling so that we can keep car numbers down both for the environment and the carparks. It's also a great way to get to know some people.
Please make sure to bring:
• Sturdy, waterproof walking boots. It can get very muddy and slippy on these walks
•Waterproof clothing, it is England after all
•Warm/cold weather layers. Prepare for all weather
•Enough water for the duration of the walk
•Lunch and snacks as needed. There won't often be places to buy things en route
