Car/Bus Ramble: Mountsorrel Railway, Swithland and More

What we will do: Arrive by 10.15am for 10.30am start from: Stonehurst Farm Car Park, Bond Lane, Mountsorrel, Leicestershire LE12 7AR, OS grid ref 577 153. Long walk 7.5 miles; Short walk 3.5 miles approx. Easy walking, some short but not steep hills. Lunch options: There is a café and shop at Stonehouse Farm or the Granites Coffee Shop at Mountsorrel. Or you can bring your own picnic lunch and sit outside. There is a £2 charge if you wish to go into the museum & nature trail areas at Mountsorrel which can be paid for at the Granites Coffee Shop.

Direction by car: Coming from the North (Loughborough) direction, the turn into Bond Lane off the main Leicester Rd is on the right hand side. From the South (Leicester/Rothley) direction, the turn is on the left hand side. In either case, proceed a short distance up Bond Lane and the Stonehurst Farm Car Park is first right. Parking here is free. Car sharing can be arranged.

Important to know: There are usually 10-15 people on these walks. A lot of the walkers will be club members and are not on the Meetup website.

Non-walkers are invited to join us for lunch. Please advise the organiser in advance.
What to bring: Please dress appropriately for a country walk. Wear proper walking boots, bring a rucksack with liquid refreshment and some waterproof clothes depending on the weather forecast for the day.
