That’s why we are calling for a pause, or moratorium, on data center approvals. The opposition to the Edsall electrical substation for the Plaza 500 data center--at the border of Fairfax County and the City of Alexandria--is mounting. Fairfax County's Planning Commission is holding a public hearing on December 2, 2026. This is YOUR chance to add your voice to the chorus, asking for a denial of the 2232 application.
Join this webinar to learn about the (confusingly named) "2232" process of approving or denying the building of a public utility, learn about the ways to testify (via written comments, phone, pre-recorded video, or in-person!), and what you can say to be most convincing. There will be plenty of time for Q&A.
It can be quite empowering to sit in a room with a hundred peers opposing bad development like this! If you haven't testified before, this is a great chance to share the experience with us and others. We can help!
