I was asked to post information on this up and coming event. I didn’t want to post anything I hadn’t heard of so I sent my web detectives to find out about this website.
Two thumbs up for the effort these guys are trying to get started.
It is an amazing undertaking to get something OFF THE GROUND as far as writers conferences, get togethers, clubs etc. SO Yes I do think this sounds fun! Heads up these guys are serious about their Sci-Fi!

Writers conferences in my good opinion SHOULD focus on writer details of course, but most likely these kinds of FUN CONFERENCES will always BE on WHAT they are good at first and foremost.
What I do love is the fact that it seems to be a start to something FUN and eventful. Be that as it may a get together of space loving, laser sword wielding creatures they are including EVERYONE. I always say, “If you learn ONE thing for someone else, you have climbed a mountain of knowledge and possibly opened up a new way of thinking.”
Now everyone meet Peter!

• HonorCon has been celebrating military science fiction literature in Raleigh, North Carolina for three years now. In 2015, we had over 300 fans of this less-known genre come to the Hilton North Raleigh/Midtown to express their love of science fiction and fantasy. What makes HonorCon special is the focus it maintains on literature in the form of the many panels it presents dealing with such subjects as world-building, portraying villains in writing, and how to handle criticism of your writing. Most of our panels are facilitated by current and successful Authors such as Christopher Nuttall, Mark Wandrey and Christopher Woods, who are perfectly happy to answer questions and help bring their experience to all participants. Most of the subjects discussed will be from the perspective of a military sci-fi writer but the subjects are the same ones that just about any aspiring writer of fiction has to deal with. The convention is run the Royal Manticoran Navy, the official Honor Harrington fan club, a group that takes great pride in making their conventions safe, fun and informative. You will likely see its members throughout the convention in the uniforms of the various space forces depicted in David Weber’s Honor Harrington series of books. As such, it is dedicated to creating a safe zone for all to enjoy their fandom and maintains its well-known “Shore Patrol” to provide for all of the convention’s security needs. I have only touched the surface of what will be covered at this wonderful convention. For more information about panels and presentations, please check out our website at http://www.honorcon.org/. I hope to see you there.
