Sunday Session - Amy Huh - Dedicated to the Friends of the Paramus Public Library

Dr. Amy Dahm Huh has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician on four continents. She has been featured in venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Spain Zaragoza Auditorium, Tokyo Metropolitan Arts Space, Fukuoka Acros Hall, Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Seoul Arts Center, the United Nations Headquarters, and the South Korean Embassy. In 2015 and 2020, her Starry Duo violin-viola ensemble released two albums worldwide.
Dahm collaborated with members of the Emerson Quartet, the Brooklyn Rider, and many prominent artists. She played a duet in Spain with the renowned violist Avri Levitan in 2016, and performed with her former teacher, Nicholas Cords, in a viola quartet the following year. In 2019, she was invited to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland where she presented the concert called “Korean Poetry,” collaborating with a Korean traditional vocalist. In 2022, she premiered a composition by JeeYoung Kim named "Tiger Chasing the Wind" at Carnegie Hall and Asia International Symposium & Festival. In the spring of 2023, she participated in a series of chamber music concerts held in Frankfurt, Germany, as well as Antwerp, Belgium.
She has been featured on television, in magazines and newspapers worldwide, including the New York Korea Times, Hong Kong Times, Spain Lavanguardia, KBS TV, EBS TV, Arirang TV, String and Bow magazine, and Korean Daily News. Her performance highlights as a soloist include New York Classical Symphony Orchestra, Czech Republic State Symphony, Duxbury Festival Orchestra, Il san Symphony Orchestra, and La Fuse Players Orchestra.
Throughout the 2022-2023 academic year, she delivered presentations and conducted masterclasses, as well as performing recitals as a guest artist in University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado State University, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, and Florida College. Additionally, universities in Korea, including Hongik University, Konkuk University, Anyang University, Hannam University, invited her as a special lecturer, on topics of ‘How Music Connects Us Across Cultures’, ‘The Role of the Artist in Society and the Entrepreneurial Mindset.’, ‘Digital Storytelling Through Music’, and ‘K-Pop and K-Classic from 1990s to Present.’
Dahm currently serves as the principal violist at Bergen Symphony Orchestra. She holds degrees from Yonsei University, Mannes School of Music, Boston University and Stony Brook University's Doctoral program. She is on the faculty at the Northern Academy of the Arts and St. Thomas Choir School, as well as the New York School of Music and Arts. Along with her love of music, she has a strong dedication to charity work, especially for children and seniors who are physically or mentally challenged. As the Music Director at EnoB, Dahm arranges and performs in various benefit concerts for hospitals, churches, and senior centers in New York City, as well as participating charity concerts in the United States, Spain, South Korea, and the Philippines.
