Sunday Sessions - Marel Hidalgo
Details
We've been doing the Sunday Sessions for a few years now, but we finally have a performance too big to contain in the Imagination Library.
Guitar prodigy (soon to be legend) Marel Hidalgo will be performing at the Paramus Library Band Shell on what will hopefully be a beautiful June afternoon. He will be accompanied by Reggae legend Larry McDonald (Peter Tosh, Mick Jagger, Taj Mahal, Bob Marley), Mike Griot (Queen Latifah, Hezekiah Walker, Lauryn Hill), Winard Harper (Etta Jones, Betty Carter), Leonieke Scheuble (Tedx, Jimmy Cobb), and Mike Camacho.
At 17, Marel is currently setting the music scene on fire (he started his musical journey at four when he saw a cartoon dog play guitar on TV) as he travels the U.S., Europe, and South America playing with some the greatest musicians of our time. He’ll be performing alongside Norah Jones at Lincoln Center on May 21st to celebrate the birthday of guitar legend Ernest Ranglin before swinging by Paramus to burn our band shell to the ground.
Marel will be playing guitar and banjo in a performance that combines jazz, reggae, and Caribbean music with heavy danceable grooves
Bring your family, friends, blankets, picnic baskets, and lawn chairs for a once-in-a-lifetime musical performance.
