Novels & Nibbles Book Club - February 2026 (1 of 2)
Details
We’re heading to Brooklyn Cafe in Sandy Springs on Friday, February 13th at 7:15 PM to start our discussion of Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz, covering through Chapter 7 of “Five: Silver” (roughly the first half of the book).
This is a mystery that knows exactly what it’s doing. Magpie Murders starts as a very traditional, old-school whodunit—then supposedly pulls the rug out from under you. It’s smart, self-aware, and layered in a way that rewards close reading without ever feeling academic. Think: a book about a book, a murder inside a murder mystery, and just enough weirdness to keep you second-guessing what matters and what doesn’t. Even in the first half, there’s plenty to chew on: clues, red herrings, tone shifts, and the fun of realizing you might not be reading the story you thought you were.
Brooklyn Cafe’s relaxed, neighborhood feel makes it a great setting for digging into theories, frustrations, and “wait—did you catch that?” moments over comfort food.
