Join us on Friday, April 17th at 7:00 PM at Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant in Alpharetta, GA as we kick off this month's meetings and discuss the first ~50% of The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett, covering Chapters 1 through 7 (about 163 pages).
This month's book starts with twin sisters who grow up in a small Southern town, then make very different choices about the lives they want to live and who they want to be. From there, the story begins to widen in a way that’s less about plot twists and more about identity, perception, and the ripple effects of decisions that don’t stay contained to one person.
Brooklyn Cafe’s relaxed, neighborhood feel makes it a great setting for digging into theories, frustrations, and “wait—did you catch that?” moments over comfort food.
This first section should give us enough to get a feel for where things are heading and start pulling at some of the bigger ideas without getting too far ahead.
