Carlsbad, NM - Friday, December 4th - 6th
This trip is for males and females. Males and females will not be sharing suites, however.
This trip was planned already, but others are welcome to join!
Friday, 12/4 - Depart ABQ at 9:00 a.m. from Target (north parking lot) on Paseo del Norte. Please arrive between 8:45 - 8:55.
Depart at promptly at 9:00. Consider contributions to the cost of gas if sharing ride. Please advise when you RSVP on whether you are wanting to ride with someone or driving and if others can ride with you.
Drive to Roswell for 12:00 pm lunch, and maybe visit the Alien Museum.
Leave at 1:30 and drive to Carlsbad (about a 1½ hour drive).
Check into the hotel at 3:00.
Get ready for Carlsbad Winter Wine Festival
starting at 5:30 and ending at 9:30. Food will be available to purchase at the event.
Please note tickets for wine festival will not be available for purchase until early November so event is not a guarantee. When tickets are available for purchase, information will be posted. Please make every effort to buy tickets the minute they go on sale.
- Hotel information: rooms will be booked at the TownPlace Suites in Carlsbad. A two-bedroom suite is $304 per night and a one bedroom suite is $257.00 per night; price includes tax and fees. Please let us know if you have someone to share the 2-bed suite with or if you want a 1-bed suite or plan to stay elsewhere. Payment will need to be made to Donna if you want her to book suite.
Saturday, December 5th - Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Carlsbad Caverns around 10:00 a.m., about a thirty minute drive. Entry fee is $15.00.
Depart around 1:30 p.m. and enjoy linch.
Return to the hotel around 3:00 p.m.
Christmas on the Pecos boat ride, time TBA - depends on tickets and which boat is available ( preferably the Pecos Diamond, which holds ten people, costs $30 per ticket; ) First departure is at 6:15 and is forty-five minutes long.
Dinner afterwards at a local restaurant.
Sunday, December 6th - Breakfast at the hotel. Depart around 10:00 a.m., drive to San Antonio, for lunch (about a 3½ hour drive).
Return to ABQ's starting point (about 1½ hour drive).
