TONIGHT! DISCOVER THE FLORA OF NEW ZEALAND
Details
Virginia Bowers, amateur plant geek, retired property coordinator for Bureau of Environmental Services
Paul Slichter, retired biology teacher, NPSO Fellow, member WNPS, Bird Alliance of Oregon, and Vancouver Audubon Society
We are in for a mid-winter treat as Paul and Virginia share photos from their separate trips to New Zealand.
Virginia will discuss some distinctive NZ native plants along with scientific explanations of their characteristics. In addition, she'll focus on plants used by the Maori for food, medicine, basketry and building.
Paul takes us on an all too brief look at NZ flora from the Kauri and Podocarp forests of the North Island, to the subalpine, alpine, and tussock grassland of both islands.
Experience the botanical wonders of New Zealand in this colorful and lively presentation. Register today!
