Wednesday!! Evening Stroll at Camassia Preserve
Details
Join us for an easy one-mile stroll through a preserve named for the common camas (Camassia quamash)which blooms here in early May along with many more plant species. The rocky bluff was exposed when ancient repeating floods swept down the Columbia River Gorge and up the Willamette Valley. The floods swept away soil and vegetation and deposited granite boulders ("glacial erratics") from as far away as Canada. Meet us at the entrance at 4800 Walnut Street, West Linn. The preserve is small, and we move at a "botanical" pace, so you can catch up if running late. Turn right at the entrance and continue counter clockwise on the loop.
