This class is graciously hosted by NSL Keyholder - Nz0!

I'm a member who wants to laser cut - what should I bring?

If you'd like to cut a specific material or a large piece, bring a sheet of what you want to cut (acyrlic or particle board are ideal).

  • Make sure it is cuttable: NO METAL; we can cut paper, cardboard, wood, acrylic, and other plastics.
  • Make sure it isn't too thick: we recommend a thin piece to start/do tests with to learn how the machine works. Do not bring anything thicker than 1/4"! The machine can do higher, but you'll take a lot more time on the machine than others.
  • Make sure that there are no toxic chemicals or byproducts of the cutting process. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS, ASK US. DO NOT CUT ANYTHING IF YOU DON'T KNOW IF IT IS SAFE.
