Rootkit Design and Development
(This is a three day paid course - details below)

You've hopped the fence! You're in, but you have a bigger task in front of you. You need to stay undetected not for a few days, not for a month or two, but for years. You need to silently maintain access to a system while also keeping all of your capabilities ready. Sound like fun? This course is for you. This 3 part course will cover:

  • Userland Rootkits
  • Kernelmode rootkits
  • Stealth communication
  • Bootkits/Bootloader rootkits
  • Mobile device rootkits
  • Firmware Rootkits, Cloud infrastructure attacks

This class will touch upon EDR evasion briefly, but will NOT focus on it. This class is intended to train and inform defenders and legitimate red teamers. Students will walk away from this class with experience and resources to assist in their own development including software and reference material.

Platforms:

  • Windows, MacOS and Linux including IoT and mobile devices

Requirements for this class:

  • A general programming background is required. You do not need to be a master, but an understanding of fundamentals is necessary. Vibe coding is great, but it's not enough to get the most from this class.
  • Basic comfort with MacOS, Linux and Windows are necessary.
  • General familiarity with security and malware concepts
  • A dedicated attitude. This class is not a casual walkthrough. It is an exercise that you must engage with.

Due to the deeper technical nature of this topic, there is a 10 seat limit for this class to ensure students receive appropriate attention
