Jun 6-7 Rapid IV Rafting Adv Park & Lake George $199 (1 Night + Transport)
WhiteWater Challengers, Rte 28, North River, NY, USIV RAPID WHITEWATER RAFTING @HUDSON RIVER GORGE
Whitewater Rafting on the Hudson River Gorge Adirondack Mountains, New York The right rafting trips ... at the right prices ...in the right locations! "White Water Rafting Dam Releases ...the most fun you'll have all year!"In June, we had Rapid III Whitewater Rafting @ Lehigh River. Many of you mentioned the water was too calm and were interested in Rapid IV Whitewater Rafting. So here you are, and we are going to Hudson River for Rapid IV WR.
A whitewater rafting trip through the Hudson River Gorge means western-style whitewater adventure right here in the central Adirondacks of New York! The Hudson River Gorge is rated one of the Top 10 whitewater rafting runs in America. And no wonder! This is the Hudson River as she was meant to be ... crystal clear, clean, alive and powerful, as her unbridled whitewater thunders alongside 500-foot granite cliffs, and through awesome rapids like Givneys' Rift, the Narrows, Little Nasty and Greyhound Bus Stopper. The Hudson River's whitewater is most powerful in the spring and fall; rafting is somewhat more moderate in mid-summer. Scheduled whitewater dam releases assure terrific rafting fun all season long. Jun 19-21 Lake Placid & Ausable Chasm $329 (2 Nights + Transport)
Lake Placid, NY, USLAKE PLACID
A charming Adirondack village and the capital of winter sports in the East
Lake Placid is one of the most established and enjoyable winter playgrounds in the United States, with a walkable downtown where you’re never far from nature. Home to two Winter Olympics games in 1932 and 1980—which included the dramatic U.S. hockey victory over the Soviet Union, known as “The Miracle on Ice”—this alpine village remains a magnet for world-class athletes today.
An enchanting place any time of year, Lake Placid also shines in spring, summer, and autumn, with scenic hiking, Main Street shopping and dining, brilliant fall foliage, and easy access to the breathtaking, unspoiled beauty of Adirondack Park—6.1 million acres of trails, rivers, streams, wildlife habitat, and more. High Falls Gorge is a 22-acre, privately owned nature park. Since the1890's, we provided safe trail access for all ages to an otherwise inaccessible narrow granite walled gorge with four spectacular waterfalls. Today sturdy steel bridges, walkways, and groomed walking trails replaced the rugged wood footbridges and beaten paths written about in The Plattsburgh Sentinel, dating back to July 28, 1899. Our rich history and beautiful views make us a true gem of the Adirondacks. More on https://highfallsgorge.com/LODGING
