About us
This meet-up focuses on the musical format known as soundwalks, in which participants listen to music composed for specific locations and/or routes determined by the composer. If you're interested in new music and music technology, like to connect with the outdoors and have a smartphone, we'd love to meet you!
We will meet at a number of well-known New York City locales to experience interactive soundwalks using a new mobile app called U-GRUVE AR, for which a number of composers have contributed works. We'll meet, discuss the work (sometimes with the composer on-hand), experience the music, and then discuss our impressions over food and drink at a nearby venue.
