How is the Intersection of AI and Immigration Impacting the Tech Industry?

On Tuesday evening, June 25, a discussion led by Fragomen, a firm of more than 6,000 immigration-focused professionals and staff spanning more than 60 offices worldwide will provide updates on how the tech industry is leveraging U.S. immigration policies to further expand and flourish in the current marketplace.

Several months ago, President Biden issued an Executive Order addressing the risks of artificial intelligence (AI). The Order covers issues related to AI safety and security, data privacy, equity and civil rights, consumers and workers, innovation and competition, and more.
To date, nearly 30 actions have been completed by multiple federal agencies in response to the Executive Order. As a result, it is clear that U.S. immigration has become even more interconnected with growing tech companies.

Chris has provided immigration services for business professionals undergoing intracompany transfers, and has guided researchers, designers, scientists, and fintech professionals with obtaining “extraordinary ability” and “outstanding researcher” classifications as a result of their established prominence in their fields of expertise.

Daria Siegal
Daria Siegel serves as Vice President of Technology Initiatives at New York City Economic Development Corporation supporting the growth of the technology industry to create opportunities for all New Yorkers. In this role, Daria launches programs and works with ecosystem partners to grow NYC’s innovation ecosystem with a focus on diversity and inclusion in tech. The Tech Team at NYCEDC works to support emerging sectors including AI/ML, blockchain/web3, and cybersecurity and their applications across life sciences and the green economy. Daria’s experience has been at the intersection of community building and economic development. In her previous role at the Alliance for Downtown New York, Daria built and managed LMHQ, a collaborative shared workspace designed to support the growing creative industries in Lower Manhattan.
