You can use the open source software Gallery for this. Very powerful and customizable.

Isn't that strange when you think about all these social networks, especially all the big ones like facebook,
myspace, seems like all the other sites have used their money for nothing!
All these  white label social networking sites will likely fade away especially when google - and who knows
maybe yahoo - have joined the competition (and microsoft). It appears they are taking over the world
Since I am an expat and  a member of several different social networking sites in real life like,, - I feel sorry for them if they spend any money on development.
I am sure it costs quite a lot to create all this stuff from the scratch.  I was comparing some sites out of curiosity.  Having full event management system, member profiles, search etc can not be free (unless you are a programmer yourself and maybe some of these guys are)
The one feature that is NOT so great was PHOTO GALLERIES on any of the sites I know.  Since I am personally looking for the BEST photo gallery where you can upload pics in a great format, not too big and possibly could make comments etc (and would not cost tons of money) for our own commmunity site.  Limit the use mostly to the admins for the events...what would you suggest?? is there a package we could purchase and create an interesting but stylish photo gallery for upscale events with some text for specific pics.  You know like taking 40 pics from one event, having them in a default size, format...and being able to create some "captions" for the pics if necessary, maybe allow members to comment on some pics (instead of having 40 different size pics that look tacky and take too much space)
As far as I understand for instance Picasa is just for can not modify it much at all.
QUESTION: Anyone knows where to go for more information on flexible, modifiable photo gallery softwares or scripts one can purchase!
I thought most of the smaller sites had at least basics down for events. Hard to tell how the backend works.
Example for event management Friday, Nov 9th EuroCircle and Slovakinfo event @ Branch
Sites like are quite good I think...just costly...
