Our annual Tahoe ski trip is on. We are going to fly to Tahoe on April 21st and fly back to NYC on the 25th.
We will ski in Palisades Tahoe. Hopefully we get another April pow day this year!!!
If we don't get pow day we might be epic blue bird hot California spring days. We have done a few bathing suits laps when it's hot and sunny. Just bring lots and lots of sunscreen. You can get a worse sunburn than in the middle of the summer at the beach.
Plan is to fly in to San Francisco or Sacramento on the 20th and fly out on the 24th. The best option is JetBlue which has a direct flight to SMF. We used to fly into Reno but JetBlue doesn't do direct frequent flights into Reno anymore. Sacramento adds an hour each way to our trip which is not bad.
We will stay at the base of Palisades Tahoe so this will ski in and and hopefully ski out depending on snow coverage. No shuttles required. The KT-22 lift is 100 feet from the back door of the lodge.
Cost of the trip will be as follows:
Flight to Sacramento: $400 to $500
Lodging for four nights: $400 (You might have to share a bed. Depends on how many twin and queen beds there are. This is per person)
Lift tickets: Ikon Pass covers Palisades Tahoe. If you don't have Ikon you can buy next year's Base pass for around $750. Pass is not out on sale yet but once it is, I will update the price. I can give you a discount as a member of the group if you are a new passholder. The pass will cover spring and the entirety of next season. You can pay par day but it might come to about $100 or more per day for a ski pass.
Food: Up to you. Some people will cook meals and some will go out. You can cook some days and others you can stay in. I will book 2 and 3 bedroom condos so they will have a full kitchen.
I will start a chat close to the trip to coordinate. I will also post which flight I am booking here and in the comments section. I can book 3 other people on JetBlue with a free carry-on so contact me if you are interested in saving money on a carry-on.
This is a super fun trip every year. We get between 20 to 30 people each year. Last year there was a massive free Paul Okenfold concert Apres-ski. This year? Maybe some other DJ?
