Spring skiing trip to Squaw Valley, California in Lake Tahoe
I am going to go to Squaw Valley for spring skiing for four days and I want to invite everyone to come. Squaw is an amazing resort and it so much fun. If anyone wants to go for a shorter period let me know. Also I could be convinced to do 2 days at Mammoth and 2 days at Squaw. How do we get to Squaw? We will fly to Reno via JetBlue. Rent a car from the Reno airport and drive 40 minutes to Squaw Valley. Apres-Ski we can go to check out the cute towns in Lake Tahoe one day. Budget: JetBlue to Reno is about $300 round trip. 4 day lift tickets are $239 or $0 if you have an Ikon Pass for next season since spring skiing is included. 4 nights at Squaw Valley Lodge will be $250 per person for 4 nights. Squaw Valley Lodge is a ski-in and ski-out lodge. No need to commute when the KT-22 lift is right outside your door. Car rental with gas will be between $100 and $150 person. Total cost will be $939 per person without Ikon or $700 with Ikon. For those wondering what the Ikon Pass is then click here: The 4 day Squaw Valley passes are available here for purchase: The only thing that I am booking are the lodging and 1 car rental. If we have a large group then I will ask a second person to volunteer to book another car. Any questions, please feel free to email me at [masked] Francisco

What we're about

Public Group

Welcome to the New York Backpackers!

We're a club of outdoor enthusiasts who come together for day hikes, weekend backpacking trips, and longer excursions. We love all outdoor sports such as rock climbing, ice climbing, kayaking, alpine, nordic, or telemark skiing, snowboarding and biking.

We love all seasons but we especially love the winter.

Our Club provides all kinds of adventures year round. Please check out our past events and sign up future events.

Participants include adult men and women of all ages and physical condition.

How do I get a ride or offer rides?

Post on the comments section of the event that you are going to that you need or that you have space in your car. Please wait until at least two weeks before the event to ask for a ride. We try to carpool as much as we can because a lot of people don't have a car and it's more environmentally friendly.
