Labor Day Weekend in Acadia National Park

We are going back to Acadia National Park again this year but on Labor Day Weekend this time. I have booked two group sites at Smuggler's Den campground.

The plan

Thursday

Some of us will drive up on Thursday after work to Portsmouth, NH and stay at a hotel downtown. Some people will drive up Friday all day to Acadia. I recommend breaking up the drive into two days.

Friday

We will carpool up to Acadia National Park. If you need a ride post it in the message board. I will create a spreadsheet for rides the closer we get to the event. We will leave throughout the day to Acadia. It is an 8.5 hour drive there. Which will take about 10 hours with stops along the way. Most people will probably try to leave in the morning or around noon to be make it there by nightfall. Some will leave after work but won't arrive until 3 or 4am.

Saturday

I am planning on going biking around the carriage trails. It is a blast and you get some of the best views. There are rentals available in the park. You will need a hybrid or mountain bike for the carriage trails. Maybe do a hike after we drop off the bikes. I would love to do Precipice if it's open.

Sunday

Plenty of activities to do, you can hike, kayak, climb different routes and road bike. You don't need to go by my schedule. We will get dinner both night or maybe just one night at Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is about 10 minutes from the campground.

Monday

We will drive back to NYC. Plan on getting a long lunch in Portland or Portsmouth otherwise you will be stuck in a lot of traffic going back to NYC.

Campground fee:

Please send me $50 per person for a spot in the campground. You can send it via PayPal or Zelle to metope@gmail.com or using Venmo @xico-mancheno. Only those who have paid me can come.

Rules:

If you want be loud and party please do that at Bar Harbor. When you're at the campground be nice and polite to everyone. If they ask you to be quiet then be quiet. They are very at Mount Desert but they don't like big groups because they can be loud. So don't be loud. Anyone who is rude or doesn't listen will be removed from this group ASAP. I don't want any problems with Smuggler's Den.
