About us
We have fun, informative, sociable & scenic walks/hikes in NY, NJ & CT to historic neighborhoods/towns, waterfalls/waterfronts, gardens/arboretums, art studios & hiking parks.
Some of our walks/hikes are like a tour, 3 to 5 miles, with leader stopping/ commenting at many points of interest.
Other walks/hikes are 6 to 11 miles, with leader stopping/commenting at not as many points of interest. For these longer walks/hikes, you have to be physically fit, able to do miles listed, and able to maintain a moderate (not slow) pace.
This Meetup is a social group, not a business. We are here to socialize, exercise and explore together. The small organizer event fee, our only source of receiving money on Meetup, helps pay for Meetup fees, subscriptions, stationery and the hundreds of time we have traveled by public transportation outside of NYC to scout out walks/hikes.
ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON ANY OF OUR WALKS/HIKES.

Unique outdoor museum that is one of its kind, Grounds for Sculptures
Penn Station, 393 7th Ave. ,, New York, NY, USThere are some places that, from the moment you enter to the moment you leave, capture your mind and spirit and leave you breathless. Grounds for Sculpture (GFS) is one of those places. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by a group of sculptural characters who seem to shout your arrival.
As you approach the Visitor Center, you will encounter the lifelike works of Seward Johnson: a little girl enticing a man to play, a painter at his easel, and a giant dancing couple. From there, your eyes will be filled with astonishing works. You will have the chance to "step into" a Renoir or Monet painting and find moments of reflection at the Scream and Silenciohouse. Every path leads to a new discovery hidden in a remote corner of the gardens.Look to your right and you'll see a VanGogh sitting by his easel and in front of a giant dancing couple. From there, your eyes will be filled with astonishing works. You will have the chance to "step into" a Renoir or Monet painting and find moments of reflection at the Scream and Silencio house.
