Python for Beginners: Part I

Learn the basics of programming with Python! What is a list, variable, or function? What is a string, dictionary, or loop? How can I create a simple program that solves a math problem that I can't do by hand? We will answer these questions, amongst others at this workshop.
Preparation: Download Python. You can either get the default version (http://www.python.org/download/) (basic) or one with the most popular libraries included. A popular distribution is Continuum's Anaconda which you can get here (https://store.continuum.io/cshop/anaconda/).
Don't forget to, bring a wireless enabled laptop!
Instructor Bio: Paul Logston is an avid python programmer and NYC Python Meetup attender. He currently writes code for the startup 15 Five. He also hosts the Saturday NYC Python meetup office hours.
