Pastoral paradise: Greenwood Cemetery

Greenwood is one of the world's most beautiful cemeteries, with lovely landscaping, rolling hills, tranquil ponds, and amazing monuments--a veritable outdoor sculpture museum, and final home of Leonard Bernstein and numerous other luminaries.

DISTANCE: 3-4 miles.

ENDING TIME: Around 4:30 PM. But you can leave earlier, of course.

LUNCH: Bring your own. We'll eat by a lovely lake.

COST: $1 for me, to help cover Meetup-s $390 annual organizer fee.

TRANSPORTATION: R train to 25th St (and 4th Ave.). Then walk uphill on 25th to the cemetery gates on 5th Ave. Check weekend subway changes by googling MTA planned services changes.
