Join NYC FERMENTS for our January meetup! Start the new year with a bubbly fermented bang!! Try something new... Go down a different path... Start with a new ingredient... Take a familiar ingredient to a fermented level that you have never done before... Don't be scared of new - OK, maybe you don't have access to Camel's milk or Shark meat in time for our January meetup... here is an interesting list from The Conscious Life website of some ferments that may be new to you: Let this open up your imagination to the places that you can go with this! We encourage you to be creative and courageous and bring whatever you are fermenting or working on to share with the group - or just join us with your expertise or your curiosity/questions - you will be amazed at how you fit into and enjoy the group. Bring a friend or your pet scoby, jun or starter (we won't judge...); bring an empty jar; get nerdy with us - and get ready to share in our enthusiasm (and yummy bites, tonics, pastes, and sauces)! There's plenty of talk about wine & beer fermentation out there, but what all the other kinds of fermentation? Let's talk about process, taste what the city (and each other) have to offer, and learn about the culture and history behind the foods. Anyone who ferments food, knows the science of fermenting or wants to know more about fermenting foods is encouraged to join!
