NYC FERMENTS - AUGUST MEETUP!

Details
Our monthly meeting will be Monday, Aug 4 from 7:00-8:30 at Rockaway Brewing Co in LIC.
Summer is flying by...
Enjoy the all-too-short season of delicious local fruit!
Watch carefully - between the high sugar content of fruit and also the warm temperatures this year - fermentation happens quickly!
Lots of options (think salt, sugar, honey...) as ingredients with fruit for a variety of different outcomes:
Here's a link to Farmhouse on Boone with 2 fruit ferment methods - the first one includes a salt brine, while the second is a sweet sugar brine - https://www.farmhouseonboone.com/how-to-make-fermented-fruit#
Or go down a different path and create fruity syrupy dark HONEY magic in a jar - https://insaneinthebrine.com/honey-ferments/
Check out Cultures for Health site for some good advise about ferments in the heat - https://culturesforhealth.com/blogs/learn/blog-fermenting-in-the-heat
The possibilities are endless! Surprise us with what you can create!
Come join us with just your curiosity or bring along something that you have fermented and be prepared to enjoy fermented goodness brought by others! YUM!
Share in TASTINGS, fermentation ideas, techniques, questions, motivations, and more!
New to fermenting or it's been a while?? Come and check us out! We meet the first Monday of the month in Long Island City.
We are an eclectic and enthusiastic mix of happy nerdy fermenters.
Join us at any level with your curiosity and questions or with your fermented goodness expertise- you will be amazed at how you fit into and enjoy the group!
Try something new...
Go down a different path...
Start with a new ingredient...
Raise a familiar ingredient to a fermented height that you have never done before...
Get nerdy with us - and get ready to share in our enthusiasm!
Let's be creative and play it by ear with thoughtfulness and consideration of each other.
With bubbles for all,
NYC Ferments
