About us
Welcome to my group! You'll find a mix of restaurants ranging from cheap to expensive all over NYC, as long as there's subway access. The longest walk from any subway will be 20 minutes, with the vast majority shorter, so please use Google Maps/City Mapper if you have mobility issues. Please pay attention to the average price range and if there are specific rules regarding that restaurant. You'll find below some very simple rules regarding all of the meetups I post. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me.
0. Please maintain an actual, somewhat recent profile picture. This, along with the rather inane questions, will hopefully stop some spam accounts from joining. I will likely send a DM if you join the group.
1. If you are a newcomer and don't show up the first time and don't send a legitimate reason why as a reply, it's very likely you'll be kicked out, as this is unfair for restaurants and also unfair for other members, as this reduces the # of dishes I order or increases the price.
1a. If you're going to drop out, please do so within 48 hours, or else it will be a no-show. Regardless of excuses, three no-shows and you're out, outside of extraneous circumstances.
1b. I will post the day of an event to remind people that it's occurring and to request that people confirm. This is especially the case for newcomers, so please confirm.
2. Price range includes tip and tax. However, drinks and extra dishes are not included and will be put on a separate check. If you're planning on ordering a cocktail or something else, bring enough cash for your drink(s) x 1.3 to cover tax and tip.
2a. Outside of cash, I otherwise take Venmo or Zelle. I do not take PayPal, nor any other services, and you cannot pay with your own credit card, as this is a hassle in restaurants with multiple cards.
2b. Some restaurants are cash only, as per the description. In those spots, bring cash, obviously, or work it out with someone prior.
2c. Everyone pays the same price regardless of what they do or do not eat. If you are allergic to or don't eat something, you still need to contribute the same amount towards the bill regardless.
3. Most meals, but not all, are family style. Leave room for people to take photos first before digging in, always (the camera eats first:). Depending on the group size and price, I might order one portion or two of the same dish, so please check and only take enough to allow everyone to have their own portion.
3a. As they are family-style, please use the communal utensils and don't use your own silverware to serve unless they're clean.
4. Some restaurants require me to put down a card and will charge if someone doesn't show up. In those cases, I will request an online payment. Please note that many of these spots do not allow a reservation change after a certain point, and past then, there won't be refunds. You can sell your ticket to someone else if you want to.
5. Be nice to waitstaff. Be nice to others. Don't bring up politics or other things that you wouldn't bring up in a normal work conversation.
Anyway, that is all. If you have read down to this point, you should see the answer to the math question as 25
