After a long hiatus, we're back with a couple of great topics and great speakers. If you want to learn how make exciting cross-platform apps with HTML5, this is the place to be!

Dream Bigger with Andre Behrens from the NY Times

As web developers, we are accustomed to constraints. When building apps, we tend to take a cautious posture. With the arrival of the expanding HTML5 technologies, and the recent forward leap in browser quality, few of our remaining constraints are technical. Instead, it is our imaginations and expectations that hold us back as customers turn to mobile apps. We'll talk about using these techniques to surpass customer expectations, and, as importantly, our own.

PhoneGap 101 with Matt Rogish from Toura

PhoneGap is an open source framework for building cross-platform mobile applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This is an ideal solution for web developers interested in mobile development as it allows them to leverage existing skills rather than start form scratch with a device-specific compiled language; it also works well if you want an application to run on multiple devices with the same code base.

As before, come along ready to share your thoughts and experiences. This isn't a standard "turn up for a long talk" event, so if you'd like to share anything with the group you'll be very welcome to. And of course feel free to join us for discussion of all things HTML5 over drinks afterward.

ZocDoc (http://zocdoc.com/) will be generously hosting and providing the food this month, so thanks to them.
