COURSE HOURS: March 14 and 15th. 7:00am- 5pm both days.
Check in at 7:00am at CatRock Lodge and we will walk over to Lehman College across the street together at 7:45am.
Anyone that wants to meet directly at Lehman will have to enter through Gate 5 of the campus. Lehman Gate 5: 2912 Goulden Avenue, Bronx NY 10468.

WFA OVERVIEW
Accidents happen. People get hurt, sick, or lost. The temperature drops, the wind picks up, and it starts to rain. Would you know what to do? Many backcountry emergencies are preventable, and even when bad things happen, sometimes the wrong care can make things worse. By learning a few basic skills, you can make the difference between a good outcome and a bad one-and maybe even save a life.

WHO IS THE WFA FOR?
The WFA is the perfect course for the outdoor enthusiast or trip leader who wants a basic level of first aid training for short trips with family, friends, and outdoor groups.
It also highly recommended to become an NYC ICO Certified Leader. (Basic First Aid is the mandatory requirement for adult leaders).

WHAT IS TAUGHT?
The WFA is 16 hours long (two days), and focuses on the basic skills of: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies.
The certification will be through SOLO.

DO I GET CERTIFIED?
Yes. You will receive a WFA certification, which is good for two years.

WHAT DO I BRING?
Please bring appropriate clothes that you will need to be warm/ dry during scenarios. The course will be run both inside and outside.
Coffee, a bagel breakfast, and pizza lunch will be provided. Bring your own water bottles.
