4th of July Escape - Catskills - the Awakening Garden - Car & Cabin Camping

Hey everyone! We're hosting an “Escape the crowded city for a canopy of stars” Weekend!

This 4th of July, we’re heading out to the Catskills for an unforgettable holiday weekend of hiking, campfires, and A tiny cabin where you can pitch your tent
Or hang your hammock
Among the Tall pines…you’re in for a treat—it’s the perfect blend of rustic charm and cozy comfort.

Whether you’re a seasoned backpacker, casual nature lover, or beginning camper…this trip is all about unplugging, connecting with great people, and celebrating Independence Day surrounded by nature.

📍 The Details
When: July 3rd to July 6th

Where: The Awakenig Garden,
Saugerties, NY

Difficulty: All! Tent, hammock or sleeping bag in the Tiny Cabin (3)

Cost: $60per person…Cabin/camp or tall pine hammocking. “Glamping features include: outdoor shower, outhouses, TP, wood burning stove,firewood, newly constructed fire pit, community “Circle” firepit, snacks, well water. Small refrigerator (shared), access to electricity and WiFi nearby

🗺️ The Game Plan
While we want to keep things relaxed, here’s a loose itinerary of what we’ll be up to:

Day 1: arrival 3pm
-settle into your tent/hammock/cabin spot
-kick off the weekend with a sunset hike or tour the grounds (Maggie’s weekend hideaway)
-community campfire.

Day 2 (The 4th!):
-AM fire …breakfast and/or explore at your leisure
-AM hike to Echo Lake or Overlook Mountain ruins
-local farmstand visit
-local watering hole for swimming or lounging (Near Roundtop)
-stop at local brewery or pub
-Family style outdoor BBQ/potluck
-Campfire for stargazing, sparklers and s'mores

Day 3
-Easy Peasy wake up.
-Maybe explore Saugerties, Woodstock, local brewery, swimming, just lounge or ‘venture on your own!
-Evening campfire

Day 4 (Departure):
-A slow morning
-AM campfire n clean up
-Carry in/out…Departure by 12:00pm

🎒 What to Bring
🇺🇸 attire!!

All your own gear:

Sleeping bag/blanket and a pillow.

Sturdy hiking shoes and layers (it gets chilly at night!).

Your favorite camp chair.

Swimming gear

Shower items/towel

[Food/Drink Policy: e.g., BYOB and a side dish to share for our 4th of July BBQ].

Flashlight or headlamp.

⚠️ Important Stuff to Know:
Spots are strictly limited! Because the cabin has a hard indoor capacity limit (2-3) this trip is capped at 10 people. There will be a waitlist. Your spot is ONLY officially secured once you RSVP and Venmo the organizer.

Carpooling: We love saving gas and making friends early!
THERE IS LIMITED PARKING SPACE. A trailways bus does leave from Port Authority to a nearby stop.
