Details

UPDATE: There is no longer an attendance limit-cap for this event. Also, you may now bring one guest of your choice to come along. Depending on the size of the group, our meeting location may need to be moved slightly to accommodate space. Please continue to check this page for updates.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Let's spend the day by exploring the art of MoMA in LIC.

From MoMA PS1's Website:
Artist-centered and community-driven, MoMA PS1 embraces boundary-breaking ideas and experimental practices. A place where audiences can encounter and engage with new art and perspectives, the institution has offered insight into artists’ worldviews for nearly 50 years. Driven by a commitment to realizing artists’ visions, our programs explore the ways in which creative expression can inspire connection.

One of the exhibits (which is pictured) is an installation by Sandra Poulson entitled Este quarto parece uma República!

Admission to the MoMA PS1 is free for NY residents, but an online booking is required. Otherwise, the pricing for admission is as follows: Adults $10; Seniors $5; Students $5; Members FREE; or pay what you wish onsite.

We’ll spend about 20-30 minutes here, and then walk our way to Gantry State Park, photographing all the sights and character of Long Island City along the way. (map of LIC area)

Please bookmark this page for any periodical updates pertaining to this event. The MoMa portion of the event is rain-or-shine; if rain is in the forecast, I will make a final decision regarding Ganrty Park by early morning of the event.

More to be updated soon.

Hope to see you then!
