Coney Island - Friday Night Fireworks!

Details
Many longtime New Yorkers don't know the following wonderful fact: All summer long, every Friday night in Coney Island there is a fantastic fireworks show! They are about 20 minutes long and they are truly spectacular. I've had the good fortune to go since I was a young child.

Besides the fireworks, the sights and sounds of Coney Island on a summer night are not to be missed. And it's all only a subway ride away. We'll grab a catch-as-catch-can dinner from the various food vendors there (I know which options are vegan), as we stroll around Coney, taking in the sights and even going on some rides (for those who wish to). The fireworks start at 9:30pm, so we'll have time to tour and eat before the show starts.

Where to meet: We'll meet at 8:00pm in front of Nathan's at the corner of Surf Avenue and Stillwell Avenue. It's easy to get there. Just take the D, F, N or Q trains to the last stop in Brooklyn -- Stillwell Avenue/Coney Island. The subway stop is right at the corner of Surf Avenue and Stillwell Avenue. Nathan's is at the same intersection as the subway stop, diagonally across the street. So cross over to Nathan's once you leave the train station. The train takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes from 34th Street in Manhattan. Leave extra time in case the train is late. It's a great idea to be there early anyway. Coney Island is a blast to walk around, if you have extra time before meeting us at 8:00pm.

I am 6' 5" and will be holding a sign that says "MEETUP". Look for me at 8:00pm in front of Nathan's, right on the corner of Surf Avenue and Stillwell Avenue (diagonally across the street from the Coney Island/Stillwell Avenue train station). Don't be late!
Looking forward to a beautiful time in Coney Island. See you there!
David
