Labor Day kayak polo @ Pier 66
Details
Please RSVP several days in advance, and check back here (and/or on Slack) before you come to make sure the session has not been cancelled. Summer storms can be hard to predict, and sometimes we need to cancel at the last minute.
The tides, currents, and waves at Pier 66 can result in conditions that are very challenging for beginners, so PLEASE CHECK WITH THE SESSION HOST(S) IF YOU ARE NEW TO KAYAK POLO. Check our Hudson Conditions page for daily updates.
Our weeknight kayak polo sessions at Pier 66 typically consist of some warm-up, and some combination of basic skills drills & practice, and and informal scrimmages.
We have club gear available (boats, paddles, PFDs, sprayskirts, helmets). You should bring water/paddling shoes, clothes that can get wet (no cotton) and a change for afterwards, and a towel & soap if you want to shower. Membership covers unlimited sessions during the season, or you can pay $25 per session. Your first session with our club is free, however. More info can be found at https://www.nykayakpolo.org/membership/.
