This talk will introduce many of the new features available in the
recently-released Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. Patrick will
cover a multitude of topics including Application Streams, Image
Builder, in-place upgrade tool, Insights, container tools (featuring the all-new Universal Base Image), new security features, Ansible-powered System Roles, the web console, and the virtual data optimizer.
The talk will provide an overview of each of these features, with a
focus on what we mean when we say that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
provides a "faster time to 'Hello World'" for your environment.

Patrick Ladd is a technical account manager at Red Hat, where he specializes in working with financial services industry clients on their strategic use of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and OpenShift Container platform. Patrick is the organizer of the NYC Red Hat User Group and a founding member of his local Poughkeepsie LUG. He has over 20 years experience working with open source technology in the enterprise.
