the Finished Plate - Watercolor Still Life Workshop
mighty mighty studio, 480 23rd street, oakland, CA, USThis is a one-of-a-kind workshop with artist Laurie Caird, who will share both her watercolor techniques and a homemade soup lunch. Laurie’s work often focuses on the remains of a meal—painting finished plates as a way to honor the experience that just happened. We’ll explore granulating pigments, subtle color shifts, and simple approaches to painting glass and ceramic surfaces. You may not walk away with a finished product but you will leave with techniques, and new knowledge about materials. Bring an open mind and enjoy a cozy afternoon of eating, painting, and creative community.
