Mad Oak Bar 'N' Yard Lake Merritt Run

We'll be at Mad Oak Bar 'N' Yard in Downtown Oakland, run a 5k around Lake Merritt, and we will return to the bar for drinks and food afterwards. Mad Oak is a spacious venue with two outdoor levels. The main bar is located indoor on the lower level. It has dozens of craft beers on tap and a full bar, and next to the main bar, there is an in-house kitchen where you can purchase food. Please note: there is trivia at Mad Oak every Tuesday night (unless noted), and so, please be courteous with the other non-running patrons that are also there during our event. Also, don't forget to bring your ID.

Although the meeting time is at 6:30pm, we don't start the actual run until around 6:40pm. We will meet outside the bar -- please avoid blocking Mad Oak's entrance for the non-running patrons. If you need to leave any belongings inside prior to the run, again, remember to bring your ID prior to your entry.

Like several places in Oakland, there are car break-ins in the area, and so, please do not leave anything in your car to tempt the thieves. More than likely, we'll have someone watching our stuff at Mad Oak Bar while we're running. The bar is located 3 blocks from Lake Merritt BART, and there is limited street parking around the venue (or you can use the nearby parking garages for a fee -- check hours of operation), and there's plenty of bike parking. The bar is dog friendly.

Like all runs, we will do our best to prevent people from getting lost (verbal directions are often provided beforehand and/or QR code with directions is printed), and we are very flexible when it comes to pace and distance. All levels of running and drinking experience are welcome!
