Tenma Beer Project Aquatic Park Saturday Run

Let's visit a new spot in North Oakland where OBR has NEVER made an appearance. For Candie, he recalls East Bay Beer Runners making three appearances to the now-defunct Novel Brewing Company -- first-time on a Saturday in 2016, and the other two were Tuesdays after the pandemic in 2022. Those were amazing times. It was sad to see Novel close, but now, Tenma Beer Project sits on old Novel's building footprint. Tenma just celebrated their 3-year anniversary recently, and Candie thought it would be cool to see the run group make their return (and/or OBR debut, whatever you want to call it) to 6510 San Pablo Avenue in Oakland. That time is here -- for this summertime Saturday run!

We will meet at Tenma Beer Project in North Oakland. We will run to the Aquatic Park in Berkeley, run a loop around the park, and return to Tenma via Shellmound and 65th Streets. (NOTE: Be aware that there are sections of Shellmound Street with NO sidewalks.) The round-trip run distance is 4.1 miles. After the run, feel free to treat yourself to Tenma's brews (plus there are some non-alcoholic beverage options available inside). (Bring a snack from your favorite local spot or have something delivered while enjoying a brew or two. Indoor seating only – well-behaved dogs and folks under 21 are welcome. This is according to Tenma's website.)

The meeting time is at 12:00pm, but we don't typically start our run until 12:10pm. There is typically plenty of free street parking available near the taproom, and there is some bike parking available on the nearby streets. (Note: Be aware that in Oakland, parking meters are enforced on Saturdays -- especially near the taproom.) Ashby BART Station is 1.25 miles away from the taproom via Ashby and San Pablo Avenues.

Like all runs, we will do our best to prevent people from getting lost (verbal directions are often provided beforehand or QR code with directions is printed) and we are very flexible when it comes to pace and distance. All levels of running and drinking experience are welcome!
