What we’re about
I have been Kayaking with OEX Sunset Beach. www.oexsunsetbeach.com since 2013. This group was formally known as Sunset Beach Kayaking Group. Here you can paddle through scenic Huntington Harbor, through the light traffic canals offering single and double kayaks. Life jackets, seats and paddles are provided, and are available at no extra costs.
If you own a your own kayak, just show up and participate at NO cost. Possible rental discounts may be available and will be noted on scheduled event.
This group may schedule short day walks and some cultural events (i.e. community plays, art walks, other) There will be free events and some with admission to events.
Life can only happen if you participate. Make it a good one.

The 29th Annual Balboa Island Artwalk will take place on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 from 9am to 5pm along the South Bayfront Promenade.

Carpooling and drop-offs are advised. Uber and Lyft are great options.
**Beautiful Balboa Island is located within the Newport Beach Harbor. Take PCH to Jamboree, which becomes Marine Avenue after you come over the Balboa Island bridge.
Parking
The parking is challenging. You can either park somewhere on/around the Island or the the Balboa Peninsula. A parking lot is located at the end of the 55 South / Newport Blvd. Exit 405 Freeway on 55 Freeway South onto the peninsula and head to Palm Street. Turn right for the parking lot near the pier. Take the **Balboa Ferry **across to Balboa Island’s South Bayfront.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located every three blocks or so on the Bayfront Promenade, at the Marine Avenue Fire Station,
and at Coral, Collins & Agate Avenues.**A comfortable set of walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are recommended. Local restaurants will be open to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We can stay for lunch if there is interest.
