Lake Forest Write-in & Writers Roundtable

Hi, writers! We gather in the side area that's on your right as you walk in, usually against the side wall and then filling other nearby tables depending on our number. We tend to have between five and ten writers each week, but you won't see that many RSVPs here because most of the writers communicate via our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ocwriters).

I tend to arrive early, usually by 9 a.m. Look for the redhead with the laptop. It'll probably be me. The format is pretty casual. Some come to talk shop with other writers. Some come to escape the monotony of writing alone at home. Some come for the free coffee refills. Whatever the reason, you'll find a friendly and welcoming place among fellow writers. (Be aware there are the typical coffeehouse noises, so headphones are recommended if you prefer to tune that out while you write.)

For the first part of the gathering, we write -- everyone working on his or her own project. Then, at 11:30 a.m., most, if not all, of us put our writing aside, and pull our chairs together for the Writers Roundtable. Participants are welcome to come with questions or just to chat. We talk about writing in general, our projects in particular, upcoming O.C. Writers activities already scheduled or ones we want to plan, and just about anything really.
