Aging King George III of England exhibits signs of mental decline in 1788. As he alternates between bouts of confusion and near-violent outbursts of temper, doctors apply the generally useless treatments of the time. The King’s political foes begin to perceive an opportunity to seize power, and it’s up to the Queen and Prime Minister to thwart their efforts. The story is based on actual events.
