OTR: Classified — A Cybersecurity Session with Joel Snape (Crowdstrike)
St. Giles House Hotel, 41 St. Giles Street NR2 1JR, Norwich, GB💻🕵️♂️ CLASSIFIED — A CYBERSECURITY SESSION WITH JOEL SNAPE (CROWDSTRIKE)
‘Cybersecurity’ has become a hot topic — big attacks regularly hit the news, governments worry about falling behind and it accounts for almost half of the recorded crime committed against individuals. Despite this, it’s seen as a nebulous term that describes activities carried out in some virtual world.
Drawing on over a decade of protecting and investigating attacks against critical infrastructure and world-leading businesses, Joel will explain how cybersecurity is a real action carried out by real people: who is involved, why they act and what they do.
Using real-life examples we will explore and demystify what actually happens in a cyberattack, and what the impact can be on its victims. We will dive into what the goals of different Nation States are, and why although they get so much attention often it is the relentless ‘less sophisticated’ criminal activity that causes so much harm.
Here too understanding actors and motivations is key — all sparking discussion about where we are as a society today and what we can do to be better positioned for the future.
