Film screening & discussion: "Mistress America" (2015) • for ages 20s–40s

About the event

Inspired by several video essayists, we've selected films to watch and talk about!

During the event we will watch the movie and then discuss it, so you do not to have seen the movie before coming to the event. Everyone is expected to stay for both the movie and discussion!

We can discuss things like themes, characters, screenwriting, filmmaking technique, etc. For especially weird movies we can take some time to figure out what actually happened and what it means.

I type the notes during the discussion (and display it on the TV) so the amount of stuff that gets coherently written down can vary a bit. Also the quality depends on how much post-editing I do. But you can take a look to get an idea.

No potluck, but you're encouraged to snacks or non-alcoholic beverages to share :)
