Film discussion: "Vertigo" - must watch it before the event - for ages 20s – 40s

About the event

Tl;Dr in all caps: YOU HAVE TO WATCH VERTIGO (1958) BEFORE THE EVENT. WE WILL ONLY DISCUSS IT. You can watch it online for free here: https://archive.org/details/vertigo.-1958.1080p.

Our first and experimental film discussion double feature. This is an extension of a regular film discussion event scheduled earlier on the same day. We would like to try a format where we discuss a second film that is in some way connected to the one we will watch. Because it would not be feasible to watch and discuss both of them on the same day, instead watching the second one is a homework. The idea is that both of them are connected with the plot construction or a theme, which would make it interesting to discuss back to back.

The first double feature will be watching and discussing Phoenix (2014) (separate event available here) followed by discussion of Vertigo (1958). Both of them are using a similar plot device dealing with identity, but they use it in a different way.

No potluck, but you may bring food & non-alcoholic beverages if you want.
