OFFRO4D - Las Vegas

McCullough Pass Trail provides access from Highway US95 on the east to the Jean, NV dry lakebed area on the west. The section that travels over the saddle and back down is very rocky but provides sweeping views of the Bird Spring Range to the west and the Eldorado Valley to the east. This is a powerline trail; many offshoots run to the individual towers. Most of this trail is on BLM land. The trail is rocky and has washboards and moguls that will bounce you around your vehicle. Take it slow, and next thing you know, you will be on the Jean lake bed.

Down on the other side, we will have lunch at an abandoned quarry overlooking the Jean Lake Bed area.

Second part starts after crossing the lake bed area and will leads us to the Beer Bottle Pass and would be rated 3 (Maybe 4 depending what the weather left behind) therefore, it is not a beginners trail neither suitable for low clearance vehicles but have beautiful sceneries and will take us to the finish line in Primm.

Minimum Requirements:

• 4X4 with high clearance (Mandatory) NO AWD
• Food, snacks and plenty of water
• Good working full size spare tire (mandatory)
• Knowledge of managing your tire pressure (is appreciated)
• Communication Radios are encouraged but not required for this 4x4 drive. We will be using GMRS, channel TBD, if you have spare handle radio bring them with you just in case)
• Your camera or phone (for pictures)

Easy 4x4 drive from Via Inspirada to Jean Lake Bed area where we can explore around in the maze of trails, share experience and tips such as safety and trail etiquette which will be discuss at the drivers meeting and along the way. Ending time is a guess.
What makes that run interesting is we go through multiple type of terrains: Rocky ways, sand, up and down hills make this 4x4 drive a good one for new OFFRO4Ders with the desire to acquire knowledge about their vehicle and skills off-roading as well for experts to test their new gears and share experience.

I know you guys like having a conversational moment prior to be driving, please arrive early (08:30) as we will be rolling at 09:00.

It is 4x4 stock friendly. However, we will air down anyway as we will be traveling through different kind of terrain and because we Tread Lightly. (advantages of airing down will be explained to the new offro4ders).
If you do not have deflators and air pump: we got you, no worries.

We will have lunch at the sand hill or at the quarry which is quiet since it's at the dead end of a trail, away from the lake bed and has awesome views.
Bring your favorite snacks and off the grid lunch, a jacket, shade and chairs as well as plenty of water to stay hydrated.*
* location for lunch may vary depending timing. (During summer temperatures, lunch time is shorten to less than 30 minutes so we have more time enjoying the A/C in our vehicle).

Recommended:
Your best camera: we love seeing your pictures.
Any off-road capable vehicle (jeep rating 2 with optional obstacle for the experts).
GMRS radio is encouraged but not required.
Mandatory:
A/T tires or mud tires (I mean no street tires) in good condition and a working full size spare tire.
Food, snacks, plenty of water.

You are welcome to have guests in your vehicle and are responsible for their behavior.
