Mid-week Burro Wash
Details
Burro Wash, located just south of Boulder City, is a 4x4 trail in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It offers rocks, sand, and washboards, with a few decent ascents and descents along the way, as well as some great views and interesting geological sights. This is an out and back with the trail ending at a beach on the Colorado River.
Route: From the 7-11 meeting location we will drive about 3 miles to the the trailhead/air down spot. The trail has multiple sandy humps for the first few miles, then the trail will proceed to a bed of razor sharp rocks
After the long washboard with switchback banks there's an uphill that you need to climb at the right. Upon reaching the upper hill you will be welcomed by a vast view of the Mountains.
Upon entering the down hill, the challenge will begin with the rock garden. It is passable with a stock 4x4 vehicle but be warned if you are a wide rig (watch those walls).
At the end we will reach the Colorado River to eat lunch, chill and enjoy the waters.
Requirements:
*Working 4x4
*AT or MT tires, lots of sharp rocks, no street tires please.
*GMRS Radio recommended
*Working Full Size Spare Tire
*Knowledge of and means to air down and air up your tires
*Food, snacks and lots of water
