Mormon Wells Road
Details
The Mormon Well Road is long and rough.
We'll start at the highway 95 and end at highway 93.
** Beginner Friendly **
Mormon Well is a stock-friendly trail that traverses the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. You will cross a well-maintained dirt road that rises in elevation from the desert floor to more than 6,000 feet in elevation. Along the way, you will see Joshua forests give way to groves of pine trees. Picnic and camping areas can be found at the trail's midway point. Enjoy the change of scenery and watch for wildlife. Big horn sheep, elk, and wild burros are commonly seen in the area. Winter does bring snow to the area.
The camp area has several campsites with picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets.
The road is about 40 miles and ends at Highway 93.

Traveling North on US-95 from Las Vegas:
Take US-95 North. 6 miles (9.5 km) past the Snow Mountain exit, at mile marker 101, turn right on Corn Creek Road. Continue down the paved road 4 miles to the Visitor Center.
Be here 9am and this is where we will air down.
Communication: we are using GMRS, it is recommended but not mandatory however, the trail leader is using it to announce change of direction, obstacles on the trail and giving you advices. Please try to keep the channel as clear as possible which means: it is ok to ask short questions and give back short answers. This is for your safety, I hope you understand. Thank you. Luc
