The Art of Noticing: Birdsong Trail Edition

Slow down and tune in to the world around you. Wander Birdsong Trail with fresh eyes and ears as you notice the sights, sounds, textures, and small details of the landscape. Discover what emerges when you give yourself time to truly pay attention. Along the trail, we’ll pause to sketch, photograph, and observe the small things most people walk past.

No art experience needed. Bring your curiosity and a willingness to slow down and notice. A small paperback journal and a pencil will be provided to record your observations.

Please note: We will meet at the Rainbow Gardens, Rainbow Trailhead in Ogden. We’ll be hiking for 60-90 minutes outdoors. Participants should plan accordingly by wearing comfortable walking shoes and bringing water, dressing for the weather, and anything else they’d like to use for sketching or photographing their observations.

When: Saturday, October 10th, 2026, 10:30 am to Noon
Where: Park in the Rainbow Gardens parking lot near the Rainbow Trailhead. The address for Rainbow Gardens is 1851 Valley Dr, Ogden, UT.

About the Instructor
KC Peek (she/her) is an artist, leadership coach, and nature lover based in Ogden, Utah. With a background in landscape architecture, she explores the natural world with curiosity. Her walks combine observation, conversation, and reflection, drawing on her coaching practice to help participants slow down, get curious, and see familiar places in new ways. KC believes that paying attention empowers creativity.
