Okanagan Slow and Steady Hikers

This is a nice fairly low level moderate , in and out, which most can do. It is a lot easier than the Ogopogo trail further along the Pauls Tomb trail.

We will meet at the end of Ellis Street, park on the hill and walk up to the road barrier. That is where we will meet.

Bring spikes as things could be muddy and a snack which we will grab at the top lookout, before starting our return. If enough interest we can pop by Red Bird for pizza or even their chili which I have heard is one of the best.

As I have done for the past 6-7 years, we will have a great hike to celebrate the day.

Wearing of the GREEN is MANDATORY. Lots of it and much of the green can simply be obtained at the $ stores.

We will meet at they end of Ellis, at the top of the parking lot do the return trail to Pauls tomb and then drive 5 mins away to Red Bird for pizza or other things and a brew to celebrate.

Last year we broke all records for attendance..,about 32-33 I believe.

This will be a different outing. Starting out at Pebble Beach, and ending at the end of the new route in Peachland at Buchanan ....or as far as everyone wishes to go. If Buchanan is too far, then we will just adjust the distance accordingly.

The first part from Pebble Beach with a couple of longer grades going up will be what you will call the HIKE part. After that it is basically a walk with just a few gentle grades. No one should need poles unless you prefer to walk with them. Distance is an estimate at 10-12 km return

Water and a snack definitely. We can stop half way to have that. If anyone wants coffee/tea/ goodies afterwards we will find something in Peachland or Westbank.

PS No problem for walkers on new section

This is a low moderate 8 km hike. We will be doing a loop consisting of 3-4 different trails. I am doing it early in season as it is also a Bike trail and likely busier in the hot weather.

Location of trailhead 1275 Riddle Rd Penticton. Bring mini spikes in case of mud, water and a snack. Following the event we can stop at Yellowdog Brewery for a bite.
