Okanagan Slow and Steady Hikers

This was planned a few weeks ago but had to be rescheduled. This is a wonderful hike to the falls and then along the creek all at a below ground level, nice and cool with the odd brief sunny break. One MUST do this at least once .

Bring water and a little snack and we’ll stop at the end for 10 minutes. Back the same way. I know you will love it.😃

6 days 5 nights paddle and camp on Murtle lake in Wells Grey Park.
We will rent our canoes at the lake, no need to take our own. We will camp the night before at Blue River. we paddle and camp on Murtle lake,
no roads, no cabins, no power boats, just peace and quite. I did this 2 years ago and it was " GREAT " 2 people per canoe. the cost including canoe rentals and camping estimated at $201.50
I will have to know ASAP. PLEASE.

The Adra tunnel part of the KVR running a fair distance past Little Tunnel in Naramata area was opened to the public last year. It is quite a site to see.

It has become quite a popular attraction since. I led it twice last year hiking the 2.5 kms up to the tunnel. It is uphill all the way.

So this year we will drive almost all the way to a parking lot and just do a short 15 minute hike to the tunnel, returning the same way.

Directions: drive through Penticton but instead of going south continues straight taking you eventually into Naramata. Once on Naramata Rd continue a good distance (maybe 6-7 kms uncertain) to SMETHURST RD. Turn right on Smethurst and continue a short way and you will come to the Smethurst parking lot on the bike trail.

We will car pool from there up to the small parking lot and hike in to the tunnel. Post hike we can stop on the way back along Naramata rd at the Abandoned Rail Brewery on Davenport off Naramata Rd. Nice venue and quite popular.

We will meet at Hyway 97 and Old Vernon Rd. just north of the airport at 7:00 AM. and carpool from there. Bring sunscreen, snacks?lunch, water, extra clothing just in case. and of course good attitude. after paddle we can have a bite to eat in Gridrod. This time we will start on cliff ave. in Enderby, this starting point add about 30 minutes to the paddle, Lets get 30 people on the river. YA
