Okanagan Slow and Steady Hikers

This beautiful walk is awesome if we have timed it right to see the Larches and Aspens changing color. We have hit it right only twice in 4-5 times. The hiking part is after we stop at the canyon (the Crawford Lookout) and then continue on to the Kelowna lookout ( the hiking part). The trail we take most of the way is the Bellevue Access trail that meets up with the Crawford trail for a short distance . We will stop for 15 mins at the Crawford Canyon lookout for a snack

The whole route could be about 15-20 km km but most of it is a walk.

Directions: take KLO Rd past the Harvest Golf Club and turn right at the pub as the street has the same name McCulloch. Continue on McCullouch making 2 right turns .The second right is June Springs Rd keep going up June Springs and it will go from pavement to a narrow gravel Rd. At this point it becomes Little White FSR. Every so often you will see a number on a tree. Keep going until you see #3. That is where the trail starts. Small area to park or use the road. You are just a short km below the trestles.

Dress for the weather and bring water even if not hot. Post hike if enough interest we can stop at the McCulloch pub for a bite. Any questions post below.

We will meet in Peachland parking lot on left side of 13 th street parking lot. enter off Lake ave. car pool from there. we will drive to Peachland Lookout trail head and hike to the view point overlooking the lake and Peachland. about one hour easy hike hike, after hike we will have a bon fire, bring snacks, hot dogs if you want, marsh mellows ect, Lawn chair, blanket warm clothing warm coffee, we will look after the fire.

As I have done for probably 5 years now we dress in costume, have an easy hike and go for lunch or a bite and brew to celebrate the day. Last years costumes were especially great.

This year fir a change,we will hike/walk up Kalamoir and be ready to hit Lakesider Brewery when they open at noon. If you have never been it is a lovely restaurant serving pizza and lots of smaller dishes. Great personnel there too!

So wear a costume of a choice of your own, witches, ghosts,etc. Come October you will find at least one LARGE halloween store in Kelowna with hundreds of choices. We have had some really great costumes in the past. Hoping for a good turnout since it is a Saturday and as usual I will bake some yummies for the attendants 😊

For directions we start at the end of Sunnyside Rd. Cul de sac. You pick up Sunnyside at the very end of Quail’s Gate Winery. Continue all the way
