Join the leader on an exploratory hike to Angel Springs. The leader has only done the first third of this hike.

The scenery is very green and beautiful highlighting aspen, larch, pine and cedar trees. There is apparently a nice picnic spot just past Angel Springs, a warm springs which the signs say features tufa benches. Leader actually has no idea what that means, so it is part of the draw! The first 1.5 kms is an uphill and the leader’s research shows after that point the hike is fairly flat with a descent to the springs. The hike is an out and back hike which starts at an elevation of 941m and max is 1081m.

This hike in the Myra Canyon area is 7 to 9km total both ways and we will give ourselves 3.5 hours to complete including breaks and a snack or lunch break.

There is a mead (honey wine) vineyard serving food and beverages until 3:30 on the drive back; a nice spot to sit under an arbour outside and enjoy a snack or meal and some conversation. Meadow Vista Artisanal Bistro and Honey Wine, 3975 June Springs Rd. Please let leader know if you will not attend this portion as she will make a reservation. Menu and info at: https://meadowvista.ca

Note: the last 1km to the trailhead is on a forest service road. An SUV or car okay to go on gravel roads recommended.

Carpooling is encouraged; meet at Capri Mall 8:50, leaving at 9:00 or at the trailhead at 9:30.
Should be back to Capri by 3:30

Leader recommends bringing hikers or runners with good grip and ankle support, poles, hat, lots of water, sunscreen, big spray, and a personal first aid kit. Plus a snack or light meal to have at the picnic area just past the springs.
