Lebanon Creek exploratory hike

8:15 meet at A&W at Capri mall (1835 Gordon Dr, Kelowna, BC V1Y 0E2) for carpooling

8:45 meet at trailhead (5307 Lakeshore Rd, Kelowna, BC V1W 4J3)

Join the leader on this exploratory hike to Lebanon Creek Trail. Note: the Leader has only done the first 0.75km or so.

This approximately 6.5km hike has about 400m in elevation gain, apparently. There is uphill, downhill and then more uphill I have been told. The path is wide, sparsely populated and consists of pea gravel. The trail is quite out in the open and exposed, so sun protection is important, and this contributed to the earlier start. But the views!!!! Oh, the views. Even the first little bit shows better and better views of the lake and surrounding areas.

Reportedly the trail takes 2 to 3 hours to complete. I have estimated four hours (back to trailhead at 12:45) to give time for breaks including a small snack break and photo ops.

If it is a gruelling hot day, leader may be open to majority rules to stop at Cedar Creek Boat Launch area to cool off our toes.

Should you like, after the hike we will head to Barn Owl Brewing at 4629 Lakeshore Rd #102, Kelowna, BC V1W 1X3. They don’t have food (until a Japanese ramen food truck opens out back at 4:30) but offer a selection of beer and have a lovely patio or upstairs indoor seating. They are open to people bringing in their own food from their business neighbours: a coffee shop next door, ice cream across, and across the road is a pizzeria, a small food market and a Japanese restaurant.

I estimate if you hike and then socialize back to Capri Centre by 3:30.
